Immunity Boosting Veggie- Drinks

How to boost your immunity with vegetable smoothies and drinks.

Beets and tomatoes are a great way to get lots of Vitamin C and A, and who can resist their bright colors? Increase your intake of Vitamin C and A and you'll reduce your cortisol levels. Cortisol is a stress hormone produced in the adrenal cortex  and it plays a very important role in regulating blood sugar, energy production and inflammation; too much cortisol makes you gain weight. So do all you can to reduce it to help keep your weight down and your immunity up.

Beautiful Beet Smoothie

Puree 30 seconds or until smooth:

1 cup of beets

 1/2 cup of pomegranite juice

1 container vanilla yogurt

Beets also contain betaine which will give your liver a boost and help it burn fat faster.Rev up T cell production with the help of beta-carotene in spinach and carrots. Beta-carotene will go to battle with free radicals that are watering down your immunity. They'll also stimulate an increase in your virus-fighting T cells. Beta- carotene also gets converted into Vitamin A which fortifies mucous membranes to make them more resistant to infection.

Spinach Delite

Blend for 15 seconds:

1/2 cup baby spinach

1 cup watercress leaves

1/2 cup diced cucumbers

4 sprigs fresh parsley

1/2 cup orange juice

Look for an unexpected energy surge from the B vitamins in the watercress and the iron in the parsley. Spinach is the shining star of this smoothie; as a very nutrient dense food, spinach has Vitamins K and A, magnesium, folate, iron and calcium to name just a few.

Tomato Go-Getter

Blend for 30 seconds or till smooth: 

2 cups tomato juice

1 radish

1/4 cup celery

1/2 apple, peeled and diced

2 tsp. lime juice

pinch cayenne pepper

The pectin in the apples will help control unhealthy cravings; pectin is also highly beneficial for firming  and toning skin. Pectin is a complex carbohydrate that helps regulate the flow of water between the cells in our bodies, and helps keep them rigid.

Tomato Renaissance 

Blend till smooth:

2 cups chilled carrot juice

1/2 cup chilled orange juice

2 Tbs, cream of coconut

squeeze of lime

The medium-chain fatty acids in coconut will help to speed up your metabolism by a whopping 50 percent.
